The 30-Second Answer
For mobile car detailing in Johnson County, Kansas, expect to pay:
- Interior-only detail: $150–$275 (depends on vehicle size and condition)
- Full detail with paint decontamination: $275–$450 (sedan vs SUV vs truck)
- Add-ons: Pet hair removal $40–$80, leather conditioning $30–$50, engine bay $50–$100
Premier Detailing LLC pricing sits at the upper-middle of that range — Interior Reset $225 sedan / $275 SUV, Full Premier Detail $325 sedan / $375 SUV. We charge for quality and don't cut corners on the chemistry, the time, or the process. Full pricing page here.
What Drives the Price
Vehicle size
A sedan has roughly 60–80 cubic feet of interior to detail, plus four doors and four panels. A full-size SUV like a Tahoe or Suburban has 130–150 cubic feet, three rows of seats, and significantly more exterior. The pricing differential ($50 between sedan and SUV) reflects real additional time — typically 90 minutes more on the SUV.
Vehicle condition
A vehicle that gets detailed every 4 months looks completely different from one that hasn't been touched in 3 years. The latter requires more time, more chemistry, and sometimes specialty add-ons (heavy pet hair, deep stain extraction, paint correction). At Premier Detailing we handle that with the standard Full Premier Detail unless conditions warrant the heavy-duty bundle ($375 sedan / $425 SUV).
Service inclusions
"$99 detail" services and "$400 detail" services are not the same product. A $99 detail in Johnson County typically means: vacuum, wipe-down, spray air freshener, and a hand wash. A $325 Premier Detail means: vacuum, 212°F steam sanitize, targeted stain extraction, polymer interior protectant, hand wash, two-stage paint decontamination (chemical iron decon + clay bar), and polymer ceramic gloss sealant. Same word, different services.
Mobile vs. shop
Mobile detailers (like us) and shop-based detailers in Johnson County price comparably for comparable services — both around $300–$400 for a quality full detail. Mobile saves you the drop-off/pickup time. Shop saves the detailer setup/teardown time. The customer-side experience is what differs. Full mobile vs. shop breakdown.

Add-Ons
- Pet Hair Removal — $50: Rubber-edged extraction + 212°F steam removes hair embedded in carpet fibers. How this works.
- Leather Conditioning — $40: pH-balanced cleaner + UV-protectant conditioner. Why Kansas heat needs this.
- Engine Bay Detail — $75: Steam-cleaned, degreased, and dressed. Safe for modern electronics.
- Bead Maker Ceramic Spray Sealant — $50: Upgraded top-coat for longer-lasting protection.
Why Cheaper Isn't Always Cheaper
If a detailer in Johnson County is offering a "full detail" at $99–$150, here's what they're actually delivering:
- No paint decontamination (the $50 of products + 60 min of time required isn't in the budget)
- No steam — just a quick spray-and-wipe
- Generic interior cleaner that may damage perforated leather over time
- No real polymer sealant — usually just a spray-on quick wax
- Sub-1-hour total time on the vehicle
That's not a detail. It's a glorified car wash with a higher price tag. The real cost is the wear on your interior and the unprotected paint that picks up bonded contamination 4x faster than a properly sealed vehicle.
For a true reset that lasts, you need 3–7 hours of professional work. That can't happen at $99.

Travel Fees, Hidden Charges, Taxes
None. We charge flat-rate, the quote you get is the price, no travel surcharge anywhere in Johnson County or the immediate Kansas City metro. Sales tax is included in the listed prices.
What About Tipping?
Tips are appreciated but never expected. The flat-rate price is fair to the work — you're paying for premium service at a fair rate. If you feel like adding $20-50 on top, that goes into the mission trip fund. But if you don't, no awkwardness — the price is the price.
