Ceramic Coating vs Ceramic Sealant, What's the Difference?
Two different products, often confused. Ceramic coating lasts 2-5 years, ceramic sealant lasts 4-6 months.
What ceramic coating actually is
Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer, typically SiO2 (silicon dioxide), that chemically bonds to your vehicle's clear coat and cures into a semi-permanent protective layer. Once cured, it does not wash off.
What ceramic sealant is, and what Premier uses
Ceramic sealant is a different product entirely. P&S Bead Maker, what Premier Detailing applies on every Full Premier Detail, is a spray-on ceramic sealant that bonds to clean paint at the surface level rather than chemically cross-linking into the clear coat.
How they perform differently in the real world
Both products bead water. That part is not the meaningful difference.
Cost comparison: what you actually spend over two years
Run the math over 24 months. Ceramic coating: $1,200 to $2,000 install, then two annual maintenance details at $150-200 each from whoever did your coating.
Which one is right for your vehicle in Johnson County
Ceramic sealant (Bead Maker, included in every Full Premier Detail) is the right call for most Johnson County drivers. If you own a daily driver, an SUV hauling kids and dogs, or a truck that sees mud and gravel, the sealant is refreshed every detail and that is sufficient protection for how the car is used.
