What Kansas Roads and Weather Do to a Car Out Here
If you commute on K-10 or I-435, you spend every morning sitting behind a wall of brake dust. Those iron particles ride the air at highway speed and bury themselves in your clear coat, and no tunnel wash pulls them back out.
Shawnee Mission Park does its own kind of damage. Sixteen hundred acres of trails, piers, and lake access get used hard around here, and a Saturday out there sends a vehicle home with grit packed in the wheel wells, paw prints on the cargo liner, and fine dirt worked into every door jamb.
Who Actually Calls Me Out Here
I've worked driveways from Lake Quivira to the Pflumm corridor and just about everywhere between. The people who book tend to fall into a few groups.
Working professionals. The employers off Johnson Drive and Shawnee Mission Pkwy keep the neighborhoods full of commuters, and a daily-driver truck picks up a week of road film before anyone thinks to touch it.
Lake Quivira homeowners. The private community on the west side leans toward trucks and full-size SUVs, and those owners want the finish kept up, not just rinsed off.
Park regulars. The trail runners, mountain bikers, and weekend fishermen put real miles and real mud on a vehicle.
And parents on Pflumm Road with three kids and a lab. That is probably my most common booking, the one who keeps saying "I'll get to it" and finally calls when the smell wins.
Why the Tunnel Washes on Shawnee Mission Pkwy Are Wrecking Your Paint
There are three or four tunnel car washes along Shawnee Mission Pkwy that Shawnee residents use regularly. I understand, they're convenient, they're cheap, and the car looks clean when it comes out.
The problem is what those brushes drag across your paint: grit from every car that rolled through before you, ground in at speed. That is where swirl marks come from. My process never touches the paint with dirty media. I use P&S Rinseless, a waterless wash chemistry specifically designed to lubricate the paint surface during cleaning, keeping contaminants suspended above the clear coat so they wipe away without making contact. Then I apply P&S Bead Maker ceramic sealant, which bonds to the clear coat and creates a hydrophobic barrier that repels water, brake dust, and road film for 4-6 months.
What It Looks Like When I'm in Your Driveway
I pull up with all my own gear and set up wherever there is room to work. The one thing I line up ahead of time is exterior water access, so the wash goes smooth once I am there.

I'm 19 years old, raised in De Soto, Kansas in a fifth-generation masonry family. I started Premier Detailing because I saw a gap between what detailing should be and what most shops actually do, rushed work, rotating employees, cars sitting in lots for hours while other customers come first.
I'm a Christian. I work hard because I believe the work I do should reflect my character.
