Time Estimates by Service and Vehicle Type
Here are honest time estimates based on what I actually see in Johnson County driveways. These assume a vehicle that has been used normally, not a vehicle untouched for six months or one with severe contamination (which adds time).
- Interior Reset, Sedan: 2 to 2.5 hours
- Interior Reset, SUV or Truck: 2.5 to 3.5 hours
- Full Premier Detail, Sedan: 3 to 4 hours
- Full Premier Detail, SUV or Truck: 4 to 5.5 hours
- Full Premier Detail + Engine Bay, Sedan: 4 to 5 hours
- Full Premier Detail + Engine Bay, SUV: 5 to 6.5 hours
- Pet hair add-on: adds 45 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on severity
What Affects the Time on Your Detail
Several factors can push a job toward the longer end of the estimate or occasionally beyond it:.
- Vehicle condition, A vehicle that has not been cleaned in 6+ months requires more vacuum and steam cycles. This is common and I account for it, but I will not rush a job to hit an arbitrary time target.
- Pet hair severity, Short, embedded dog hair in fabric seating or carpet is the most time-intensive contamination I deal with. One dog in a vehicle for two years is a different job than one dog for two months.
- Paint contamination level, Heavy iron contamination (brake dust, rail dust) on the exterior requires more iron decon dwell time and multiple clay bar passes.
- Vehicle size, Full-size crew cab trucks, Suburbans, Tahoes, and three-row SUVs have substantially more surface area than a standard sedan. The time difference is real.
- Temperature and sun, Working in direct Kansas summer sun on exterior panels requires faster product application to prevent flash-drying. I adjust my sequence accordingly but it can affect pace.
Do You Need to Be Home During the Detail?
No. Most of my Overland Park, Leawood, and Olathe customers go about their day while I work.
I will text you when I arrive and when I am done. At completion, I take before-and-after photos for my records and send them to you if you want them.
