Kansas hail damages paint instantly. While ceramic sealant doesn't prevent dents, it does help with bird droppings, pollen acidity, and minor surface damage from hail-aftermath debris.
What ceramic sealant does
Hydrophobic protection against water spots, pollen, bird droppings, light chemical contamination.
What it doesn't do
Stop hail dents. PPF (paint protection film) helps with that.
Premier Detailing process
Ceramic sealant included free with every Full Premier Detail. PPF referral to specialist.

What Hail Actually Does to Car Paint, and What a Detailer Can and Cannot Fix
Hail causes two distinct types of damage to a vehicle: paint chipping, where the impact force is hard enough to crack or chip the clear coat and underlying paint; and paintless-repairable dents, where the metal is deformed but the paint surface integrity is intact. A detailer cannot fix either type of damage, that requires paintless dent repair (PDR) for undented panels, or body shop work for chips and cracks.
What a detailer can do is ensure that after hail damage is repaired, either by PDR or body shop, the paint is in the best possible condition before and after the repair, and that any cleared areas are properly protected going forward.
What Ceramic Sealant Does and Does Not Protect Against
P&S Bead Maker ceramic sealant, which I apply on every Full Premier Detail, is not a hail shield. It cannot prevent dents.
Resist minor impacts, The SiO2 ceramic layer provides some resistance to micro-abrasions and very light impacts, but nothing in the sub-$1,000 detailing range stops hail dents.
Protect cleared paint post-repair, After PDR work is complete, applying ceramic sealant over the repaired panels protects the paint from UV damage and environmental contamination during the recovery period.
Make pre-storm paint inspection meaningful, Clean, sealant-protected paint makes post-storm damage documentation easier. Hail hits on a contaminated, dull surface are harder to photograph accurately for insurance claims.
What to Do After a Kansas Hail Storm
In the order I recommend it:
Document damage with photos in good lighting before touching anything
File an insurance claim, most standard auto policies cover hail
Get a PDR estimate if dents are present without paint chips, PDR preserves original paint and costs less than body shop work
After repair is complete, schedule a Full Premier Detail to restore the paint condition and apply fresh ceramic sealant
