Every exterior service ends with Koch-Chemie Protector Wax on the paint, glass, and trim. It is a spray wax, and it is dry to the touch by the time I am packing up. There is no tacky layer sitting on the car and nothing that needs to bake in the sun. You can open the doors, load the kids, and drive off.

The McCulloch steamer runs at 212°F, so the moisture it leaves behind flashes off fast. By the time the interior is finished, the seats, carpet, and plastics are dry to sit on.

How Long to Wait After Each Service Before Driving
The wait time depends on which services were performed. Here is what to expect from each part of the job.
- Interior Reset, no wait required. The steam cleaning process uses heat that evaporates moisture within 20 to 30 minutes of completion. By the time the full interior is done and I have packed up, the cabin is dry. You can drive immediately.
- Exterior wash, no wait required. After the Multi Star pre-wash, the Quivr foam contact wash, and the final heavy rinse, every panel is dried by hand with premium microfiber. There is no standing water left on the car.
- Koch-Chemie Protector Wax, no wait to drive, a couple of days before washing. It is a spray wax that is dry to the touch before I leave. Driving is fine right away. I just ask that you avoid washing the car for a couple of days so the wax settles in and gives you the full multi-month protection.
- Engine bay cleaning, no wait required for driving. The bay is dried and dressed before I finish. The engine can be started within minutes of completion.
What to Avoid in the First Couple of Days After a Full Premier Detail
- Car wash (any type), avoid for a couple of days. Give the Protector Wax time to settle in before the surface sees soap or friction. An automatic wash with brushes is worth avoiding after that too, for the sake of the paint.
- Rain is acceptable. Rain on fresh Protector Wax will not hurt it. The wax is already dry and bonded to the paint by the time I leave, so water beads off it the same way it will for months.
- Parking under trees, avoid if you can. Sap and bird droppings are easier to rinse off a waxed surface than bare clear coat, but the sooner they come off, the better, wax or no wax.
- Eating or drinking in the freshly steam-cleaned interior, Fine if you need to. I recommend waiting an hour for the steam moisture to fully dissipate before normal use, but there is no chemical restriction.
