A ceramic sealant is a polymer-based spray product infused with SiO2 (silica) particles. It bonds to clear coat after washing and decontamination, forming a hydrophobic layer that causes water to bead and sheet off.
Bead Maker is applied after the full iron decontamination and clay bar process on every Full Premier Detail. It does not require a separate service or upsell, it is part of the standard process.
A true ceramic coating is a liquid SiO2 or TiO2 compound that is applied to paint and chemically bonds as it cures. Once hardened, it creates a semi-permanent layer that can last two to five years.
The catch: ceramic coatings lock in whatever the paint looks like at the time of application. If there are swirl marks, water spots, or oxidation on the paint, they will be visible permanently underneath the coating.
After application, the car cannot get wet for 24 to 48 hours. On a rainy Kansas spring day, that is a real inconvenience.
Ceramic coating makes sense in specific situations. If you just purchased a brand-new vehicle with flawless factory paint and plan to keep it for seven or more years, the math favors a coating.
For the average Johnson County driver putting 12,000 to 18,000 miles per year on a daily driver, ceramic sealant is the smarter choice. It costs less, requires no prep beyond a thorough detail, and can be reapplied at each service visit.
Not currently. Premier applies P&S Bead Maker ceramic sealant as part of every Full Premier Detail.
No. P&S Bead Maker is a ceramic-infused polymer sealant, it contains SiO2 but does not cure into a hard semi-permanent layer the way a true ceramic coating does.
No. A sealant must be fully removed with an IPA (isopropyl alcohol) wipe-down before a coating is applied.
Wash with a pH-neutral car wash soap (never dish soap or automatic car washes), dry thoroughly with a microfiber drying towel, and avoid harsh chemicals on the paint. Details every three to four months keep the sealant layer topped up and paint consistently protected.
Every Full Premier Detail includes P&S Bead Maker ceramic sealant, iron decon, clay bar, and full paint protection in one appointment.
