How Long Does a Mobile Car Detail Take? Johnson County Guide
A Premier Detailing Interior Reset takes 2-3 hours. A Full Premier Detail takes 3-4 hours.
Interior Reset: 2 to 3 hours for a sedan, 2.5 to 3.5 for an SUV
The Interior Reset covers vacuum, air compressor blowout of crevices and vents, full steam cleaning of carpets and fabric, steam of all door panels and plastics, dash and console cleaning, and streak-free interior glass. On a standard sedan in normal-to-dirty condition, a car that has been driven daily for a few months without cleaning, that process takes between 2 and 3 hours when done correctly.
Full Premier Detail: 3 to 4.5 hours depending on vehicle and condition
The Full Premier Detail adds exterior work to the Interior Reset: Dark Fury iron decontamination across all painted panels, clay bar decontamination, P&S Rinseless Wash exterior wash, wheel and tire cleaning with Dark Fury and agitation brushes, and P&S Bead Maker ceramic sealant applied to all painted surfaces. The exterior adds approximately 1 to 1.5 hours on top of the interior time.
What drives time variation: condition, vehicle size, and add-ons
Three variables determine where a job falls in the time range. Condition is the biggest factor, a car that has not been detailed in two years with embedded carpet staining and two dogs' worth of hair takes longer than a maintained vehicle that was last detailed 3 months ago.
Why mobile detailing time should not concern you
The time question matters at a shop because you have to plan around drop-off and pickup. With Premier Detailing coming to your driveway, the 3 hours I spend on your vehicle is 3 hours you are at home working, taking calls, cooking, or doing whatever you were going to do that morning anyway.
