The Full Premier Detail is interior plus exterior, with specific exterior steps that most detailers in Johnson County do not perform: iron decontamination with Dark Fury, clay bar treatment, and P&S Bead Maker ceramic sealant. These three steps address the contamination embedded in your paint from brake dust and road debris that washing cannot remove.

Why the Full Detail costs more than a wash-and-vac. Iron decontamination, clay bar, and ceramic sealant are not shortcuts that some detailers skip, they are processes that take time and materials. Dark Fury iron decon, quality clay bar, and P&S Bead Maker are not cheap products, and the process adds 1.5 to 2 hours to the appointment compared to a basic wash. If a "full detail" in Johnson County is priced at $150, something is being omitted.
Pet hair embedded in carpet and fabric seats requires a specific removal process: Lily brush to break the static bond, compressed air to agitate, RIDGID shop vac extraction, and steam to dissolve the dander and oils that bind hair to fibers. Sedans and coupes are uniformly priced. SUVs, trucks, and minivans are $50 more across every service category because there is more interior surface area to cover, more carpet to steam, and more exterior panels to address.
I price by service, not by condition, for standard appointments. A vehicle that is maintained regularly costs the same as one that has not been detailed in two years, the process takes longer on the neglected vehicle, but I do not quote variable prices in advance for standard services.
The question I get most often is: "Why does mobile detailing cost more than the car wash down the street?" The short answer is that a car wash subscription does not clean your interior, does not touch your paint with iron decontamination or clay bar, does not apply a real sealant, and frequently scratches your paint with dirty brushes. What Premier Detailing LLC produces is not the same category of service.
A legitimate mobile detailer who does the work correctly will arrive with professional equipment, a real steam cleaner (not a handheld wand), a high-powered shop vac (not a household vacuum), a pressure washer, an air compressor, and a full set of professional-grade chemicals. They will take 3 to 6 hours for a thorough full detail on a standard vehicle.
Signs that a detailer is cutting corners: appointment time under 2 hours for a "full detail," no mention of iron decontamination or clay bar on the exterior, price under $200 for a full detail, no equipment visible beyond buckets and a consumer vacuum, and no physical presence in Johnson County (some detailers list Johnson County cities on their website without actually serving them).
