The assumption that mobile means less equipment is incorrect for my setup. My 2017 Hyundai Accent is built out as a mobile detail unit: McCulloch steamer at 212°F, 14-gallon 6.0 HP shop vac, 1200 PSI electric pressure washer, air compressor, and a full chemistry kit. Koch-Chemie Multi Star for the pre-wash, Quivr foam soap for the contact wash, TRX and Wheely Clean for the tires and wheels, an iron remover that bleeds purple, an ultra-premium clay mitt with P&S rinseless as the lube, Koch-Chemie Protector Wax and tire dressing, P&S Xpress Interior and Koch-Chemie MZR for the inside, the P&S leather line, Dark Fury for engine bays, stain-specific carpet chemistry, boar-hair and detailing brushes, and about 40 clean Rag Company microfiber towels per job. Most of it is professional-only product you cannot buy at a store.
Paint correction. Polishing swirls and scratches out of clear coat takes overhead lighting from several angles, a dust-free space, and hours on a machine polisher. In a driveway I cannot see the paint well enough to do it right, and I will not fake it. If your paint needs correction, a shop is the correct answer and I will say so.
True ceramic coatings. A real coating needs corrected paint, a controlled temperature, and a 24-hour cure with no moisture. That is a shop job at $800 to $2,000. What I apply is Koch-Chemie Protector Wax, a multi-month wax that goes on every exterior surface in your driveway with no cure restriction.
Everything else is the same job. Steam, extraction, decontamination, wax, engine bays, leather, pet hair, odor. The tools do not know whether they are inside a building.
Rain, lightning, or a hard freeze on the day of an exterior job and I move the appointment. No charge, no penalty, I just text you the evening before or that morning with a new time. Interior work goes ahead in almost any weather because the doors are open and the car is my workspace. What stops me is lightning, ice, and heavy rain that would water-spot the wax before it sets. If you are on a plan, a rained-out visit slides a few days and the rest of the schedule stays put.
Mobile does not cost more. My menu is flat and public: Interior Reset $225, Full Premier Detail $350, The Premier Signature $500, Exterior Detail $195 on a sedan, with SUV and XL tiers above that. No travel fee anywhere in Johnson County. A comparable shop detail in the metro lands in the same range, and many shops charge extra for the same add-ons I price at a flat $95. What you save is the part that never shows up on a receipt: your afternoon.
A shop detail in Overland Park or Olathe requires driving to the shop, dropping the car, finding a ride or waiting, returning to pick up the car, and driving home. Depending on traffic and wait time, that is 45 to 120 minutes of your day consumed by logistics, on top of the 2 to 4 hours the detail takes.
With me, you book a window, leave the car unlocked and reachable, and continue your day. An Interior Reset takes 2 to 4 hours, a Full Premier Detail 4 to 5, and The Premier Signature 5 to 7. I text the evening before to confirm, walk the car with you or on my own when I arrive, and text again when it is done. You pay after you have looked it over.
