Mission KS Vehicles Run Johnson Drive Daily, and the Paint Shows It

Mission is the crossroads of northeast Johnson County. Johnson Drive (US-56) runs straight through the middle of town, Shawnee Mission Parkway and Mission Road box it in, and I-35 sits close enough that most people here use it every workday. That is a lot of stop-and-go traffic packed into a small city, and every time a car brakes on Johnson Drive, the pads throw off fine iron dust.

That dust lands on the cars parked along the side streets and in the driveways nearby. It looks like nothing at first. Give it a few months and it has embedded itself in the clear coat, and no amount of soap will lift it. Run your hand over the hood after a wash: if it feels like fine sandpaper, that is what you are feeling.

The fix is not a stronger wash. It is iron decon, a spray that reacts with the embedded particles and turns purple as it dissolves them, followed by a clay mitt over every panel with P&S rinseless wash as the lubricant, then a rinse before the Protector Wax goes on so it bonds to clean paint. Who I Detail For in Mission

Mission's streets are dense and residential, and the people on them are mostly working professionals with one or two daily drivers. The commute is I-35 or Johnson Drive, the parking is a short driveway or the curb, and the car gets used hard: coffee in the cupholders, a week of lunches on the passenger seat, the dog in the back on weekends.

I arrive from Lenexa with the 212°F McCulloch steamer, commercial shop vac, air compressor, and a full kit of task-specific chemistry in the car, and I set up wherever your vehicle is parked: driveway, curb, or office lot. Then I work through the vehicle the same way every time: vacuum, compressed-air blow-out of the seat rails and vents, vacuum again, then the right cleaner for each surface, P&S Xpress Interior on plastics and door panels, Koch-Chemie MZR where it is greasy, Multi Star only when a surface is bad enough to need it, and the steamer to lift what the chemistry loosened.

Interior Reset ($225 sedan / $275 SUV): Industrial vacuum, crevice blow-out, Xpress Interior and MZR matched to each surface, 212°F McCulloch steam on all surfaces, carpet and seat extraction, plastics protected, glass streak-free inside and out.

Full Premier Detail ($350 sedan / $400 SUV): Interior reset plus the exterior process: TRX and Wheely Clean on the wheels and tires first so brake dust never lands on clean paint, Koch-Chemie Multi Star pre-wash to break the road film loose, a heavy rinse, a Quivr foam contact wash panel by panel so the mitt glides instead of grinding grit in, then Koch-Chemie Protector Wax on paint, glass and trim for multi-month protection. About 4 to 5 hours in your driveway. Iron decon and a clay mitt on every panel are in The Premier Signature ($500 sedan / $575 SUV).

Engine Bay (+$95): Dark Fury degreaser on the grime, sensitive parts covered, a low-pressure rinse, then a seal coat on the plastics and hoses. Makes maintenance checks more accurate on older Mission vehicles where bay grime has been accumulating for years.
