Front-line ready, done on your lot
An independent used car lot lives on how a unit photographs and how it smells when the buyer opens the door. I do front-line reconditioning for used car dealerships across Johnson County, on your lot, one unit at a time. This page explains what you get per vehicle, how the pricing works, and how a one-person operation fits a dealer's week.
What I do per unit
Every unit gets the same standard, whether it is a trade-in that sat in the back row for a month or a fresh auction buy that needs to be on the front line by Friday.
- Interior Reset level clean. Full vacuum including under the seats and in the seat tracks, 212°F steam on every plastic and vinyl surface, hot-water extraction on carpet and cloth seats, door jambs, interior glass, and a protectant on the dash and trim. Trunk included. This is the same interior standard I sell to retail customers at $225 to $325, not a lighter dealer clean.
- Odor removal for smoker trade-ins. Smoke, dog and mildew are the three smells that kill a sale at the door. The cleaning removes the source, and an ozone treatment afterward breaks down what has soaked into the headliner and vents. A buyer should not be able to tell the previous owner smoked.
- Engine bay for photos. Used car buyers open the hood, and a listing photo of a clean engine bay does more for trust than any paragraph in the ad. I degrease, rinse carefully, and dress the plastics so it photographs clean and looks cared for.
- Exterior hand wash and sealant for lot shine. Foam contact hand wash so I am not dragging grit across the paint, wheels and tires scrubbed and dressed, then Koch-Chemie Protector Wax. The sealant is what keeps the unit looking washed after a week of rain and dust on the lot. Iron decon and clay bar are available as an add-on for units where the paint feels rough and you want it to sell as a premium example.
Pricing: per vehicle, drops with volume
Dealership work is priced per vehicle, and per-vehicle rates drop as unit count rises. A lot that sends me two units a week pays less per unit than a one-off, and a lot that gives me a standing weekly slot pays less than that. Unit counts, vehicle sizes and drive time vary too much to publish one flat number, so I quote each lot individually. Text 913-391-1868 with roughly how many units a month and what condition they usually come in, and I text back a per-vehicle rate.
What you are not paying for: no travel fee inside Johnson County, no shop overhead, and no crew markup, because I do the work myself.
Turnaround and the standing weekly slot
I am one person and I cap at two full vehicles a day, because that is what it takes to do the interior right instead of fast. That shapes how I work with lots. What works is a standing weekly slot: you pick the day, I show up, and the two units you want front-line ready that week get done. If a unit needs only exterior or only interior, I can often fit a third. Rush units are possible when the schedule has room, but the standing slot is what keeps your front line turning without you chasing me.
A full unit takes 4 to 5 hours. Interior only takes 2 to 4 depending on how the trade-in came in.
Photo-ready timing
If you photograph units yourself, shoot within a day of the detail, ideally the same afternoon. The sealant is at its best, the tires are dressed, and the interior has not picked up a test drive yet. Tell me when you book which units are getting photographed and I will sequence them so they are finished first.
Who this fits
Independent lots in Johnson County running a few dozen units, and dealers who have been sending cars out to a shop and losing a day of lot time each way. If you run company vehicles rather than inventory, or you want the whole picture on how I handle commercial work, start at the fleet and dealership hub.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you come to the lot, or do I bring the cars to you?
I come to the lot. Anywhere in Johnson County, I work wherever the unit sits, back row or front line. I confirm parking and a couple of quick logistics when you book, and your staff never has to shuttle a car anywhere.
How many units can you turn in a week?
Two full details a day is my cap, so a standing weekly slot gets you two front-line ready units per visit, sometimes three if one is interior only or exterior only. If you need more than that in a week, text me and I will tell you honestly whether the schedule can take it.
Can you get cigarette smoke out of a trade-in?
Yes. The interior cleaning pulls the residue out of the fabric and off the plastics with 212°F steam and extraction, then an ozone treatment breaks down what has soaked into the headliner and vents. The goal is that a buyer cannot tell the previous owner smoked.
How is used car dealership detailing priced?
Per vehicle, with the rate dropping as your unit count rises. I do not publish a single flat dealer price because unit counts, sizes and drive time vary too much. Text 913-391-1868 with your monthly volume for a per-vehicle quote.
